Our fresh figs are available in summer and autumn – timing varies depending on the year’s weather. The hand-picked figs are, are popular with locals and those from further afield. Returning customers often enjoy choosing their favourite varietal. Choose from Brown Turkey, Black Genoa, Preston Prolific or just say ‘figs’! You may even be fortunate to obtain the popular but rare White Adriatic! Its juicy bright pink flesh has captivated many fig hestitants!
We enjoy turning our figs into quality products. Our chunky fig jam, plain or flavoured with cinnamon or ginger, has become sought after. A spreadable fig paste is also on offer to complete your cheese platter. Try our green fig preserve on toast, or as a compliment to a decadent desert for something different! Fig syrup has proved popular with uses only limited by your culinary imagination. We suggest uses such as a dessert condiment, salad dressing when paired with our oil, or a mixer for drinks.
Winter sees a family involvement in pruning the trees. Mowing the fig yard is proudly done by the eldest member of the third generation!
Whilst winter means no fresh figs, our dried figs may satisfy your craving for the unique taste of figs – the flowering fruit!
